We watched William and Kate's Wedding from our hotel room, and it was the funniest thing.  The Italian news reporter's talked over the whole entire thing, so we couldn't understand a word that was said!

We took a tour of Vatican City.  Our tour guide was adorable.  He carried around this little umbrella to keep our group together!

This ceiling seemed to go on for days!

We were there the day before the Pope John Paul's beautification.  They were expecting tens of thousands of people the next day!

We watched this from our hotel room the next day, and couldn't believe we were just there the day before and thank God!  It was packed!  We did leave Rome on this day, which was a crazy plan. We rented a car in the middle of old Rome, and Jim had to find our way out!  We did it though, but it was CRAZY!  Our first introduction to the Italian roadways and what was to come!

Next came a tour of St. Peter's Basilica.  Unbelievable!

They were actually holding a mass right in the middle of all the tourist milling around.

After a wonderful 5 course Italian lunch, we toured the Coliseum!

We ended the day eating at Alfredo's!  My mom and dad had eaten there many years before, and my dad had always mentioned it!

I ordered a seafood Risotto which was delizioso!

We were serenaded with authentic Italian music!

Walking back to our hotel, they were roasting Chestnuts right on the street!
